At Selénce, cashmere is more than a material — it is the foundation of everything we create. From softness to longevity, true quality begins at the source. That is why we are deeply committed to where our cashmere comes from, how it is sourced, and the standards behind every fibre.
The Origin of Selénce Cashmere

Our cashmere comes from high-altitude regions of Central Asia, where cashmere goats live in some of the world’s most extreme natural environments. Long, harsh winters and wide temperature variations encourage goats to grow a remarkably fine and insulating undercoat — the very fibre known as cashmere.
These natural conditions cannot be replicated artificially. The colder the climate, the finer and softer the cashmere fibre becomes.
Ethical & Responsible Sourcing
Selénce works exclusively with suppliers who follow ethical and sustainable practices:
  • Cashmere is collected during the natural spring moulting season
  • Goats are gently hand-combed, never shorn
  • Animal welfare and natural grazing are prioritised
  • Over-harvesting is strictly avoided
This respectful approach protects both the animals and the long-term quality of the fibre.
Why Fibre Quality Matters

Only a small portion of each goat’s coat can be used — on average 150–200 grams per year. After collection, the fibres are meticulously sorted to remove coarse hairs, leaving only the soft undercoat.
The result is cashmere that is:

  • Less prone to pilling
